Newquay Airport Parking: A Guide to Your Options

By Joe

When flying out of Newquay Airport, one of the most important things to consider is where to park your car. The airport offers a couple of parking options to suit different needs and budgets, so you can find the perfect solution for your trip.

Short Stay Parking

The Short Stay car park at Newquay Airport is located just a few minutes walk from the terminal. This option is ideal for travelers who are only away for a few days, with prices starting at £2 for up to one hour and increasing incrementally for longer stays. The car park is open 24/7 and has a capacity of over 300 spaces.

Long Stay Parking

For longer trips, the Long Stay car park may be a more cost-effective option. The car park is located just a short shuttle bus ride from the terminal and offers discounted rates for stays of three days or more. Prices start at £70.50 for 7 days per day all the way up to £115.50 for 21 days.

Special Assistance Parking

In addition to these options, Newquay Airport also offers a range of special assistance parking spaces for travelers with disabilities. These spaces are located in close proximity to the terminal and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Off-Site Parking

I don’t know of any company actually offering off-site parking then a shuttle bus to the airport. I do have a few friends who choose to park on a street in Newquay then get a taxi to the airport but the cost of that soon adds up. It can easily be £15 each way in a taxi.

Booking and Arrival

You can book your parking spot in advance through the Newquay Airport website. On arrival, you will need to follow the signs for the parking option you have chosen and take a ticket from the barrier. On return, you will need to pay for your parking at the pay stations before returning to your vehicle and exiting the car park.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Newquay Airport has a dedicated Drop-Off and Pick Up area located outside the terminal building. This area is designed for quick drop-offs and pickups and has a time limit of 15 minutes. Though each car park also has 30 minutes free parking if the drop-off area is busy.

Below is a map that I’ve taken from the Cornwall airport page. I’ve added a bit of colour to show you the main building.

Newquay Airport is small.  It’s only 5.5 miles from Newquay. This means it’s too far to walk but also too close for off-site parking companies to exist. The best option if you’re from Newquay to save money on parking is to get a lift with friends. The second best option is to book a return taxi. Honestly, if you don’t book a taxi you could be waiting up to an hour for one to arrive. I could run to Newquay in that time.

£70.50 for 7 days is good value and a fair price. It’s the £23 for up to 30 hours which I think is a rip-off. It’s probably aimed at those who fly up to London and back for work.
